The Foundation for Studies and Research on Women (FEIM) is an Argentinean non-governmental, not-for-profit organization created in 1989 by a group of professional women who are gender specialists. Their mission is to improve the social, working, legal, political, economic and health conditions of women, girls, teenagers and young adults in Argentina.
National Plan of Action Against Violence
To ensure women’s rights and equality, Argentina included a 69% increase in funding for sex education for the fiscal year 2019. Yet, with budget cuts to organizations implementing National Plan of Action against Violence, collaborating organizations have appealed to government officials in a letter to government officials on October 8, 2018.
The national budget established for 2019 shows signs of a new commitment to gender equality through the inclusion of a new category “Presupuesto con Perspectiva de Genero (PPG),” which allows for more transparency. However, funds allocated to organizations and programs do not take into consideration projected inflation rates, which is disadvantageous and could imply a net loss.
